Smartphone Experts® Communities

With our roots in online media, Smartphone Experts takes great pride in our online communities. These communities offer everything from great content (news, reviews, guides etc) to discussion forums. One unique feature among our communities is a roaming member profile and shared forums. Once registered at one community, the forum profile follows the user around the network.

Prominent ads funnel visitors to our online stores, and various site sections requires free registration to access. The forums on the community sites are an invaluable market research tool, where we can listen to and communicate directly with consumers. The community sites are also allows us stay in touch with our existing customers, many whom visit the sites weekly.

We recognize the importance of separation between media and commerce; accordingly, our community sites have complete independent editorial control.

If you have any questions about the Smartphone Experts Network, contact Dieter Bohn.

CrackBerry

Acquired by Smartphone Experts in 2007, Crackberry is one of the leading online communities serving Blackberry.

CrackBerry launched to rave reviews in February 2007, garnering international attention from both BlackBerry users and the media.

Since going live, the site has continually focused on its goal of establishing itself as the #1 Source for All Things BlackBerry. While CrackBerry.com's team of bloggers report news and conduct reviews, the site also features an active forum community, an accessory and software store, and other unique utilities, including: a blackberry wallpaper maker, a user-contributed ringtone gallery, and the ability for members to activate their own @CrackBerry.com email address.

CrackBerry.com's wide range of content makes the site relevant and helpful to all users of RIM's BlackBerry device, be it a business user, personal consumer, or IT administrator.

Kevin Michaluk is the Community Editor for CrackBerry.com. Inspired by his love (some would call it addiction) to the BlackBerry, Michaluk had the idea to launch CrackBerry.com in 2006. A life-long entrepreneur with a Management Degree from the University of Manitoba, Kevin is a certified gadget freak.

Nokia Experts

Nokia Experts is the newest site in the Smarphone Expert network.  Launched in January 2009, it is edited by Matthew Miller alongside his regular blogs on ZDNet.

Nokia Experts, as with our other sites, reports news and opinion focused on a specific platform -- namely S60 and Symbian.  There is a special emphasis on the US audience, where Nokia has traditionally struggled in the smartphone space.  Miller brings his long experience in the smartphone space to bear on all things Nokia.

The iPhone Blog

When the iPhone was announced in January of 2007, everybody knew it would change everything when it would be released. Via our desire to see the smartphone world through Apple-tinted glasses, the Phone different community was born in July, 2007.

The iPhone Blog merged with the Phone different site in May of 2008. Both sites were founded on a premise that comes one from one of Apple's old slogans: Think different. The iPhone Blog: for people who dare to phone different.

The iPhone Blog features a great editorial team of writers and editors led by Rene Ritchie. On the blog you'll find a mix of informative How-To articles, the latest iPhone news, and more than a little humor. In addition, they have rapidly growing forums where members discuss applications, tips, and tricks for the iPhone.

PreCentral.net

Launched in January, 2009, PreCentral.net focuses on all the latest news surrounding Palm's exciting new smartphone, the Palm Pre.  Already it has become one of the premier Pre blogs on the net, tracking down every rumor, story, and tidbit about the Palm Pre and then applying expert analysis to the topic.

PreCentral is integrated with the already-established community of Palm fans and experts at TreoCentral.com, sharing forums, insights, and users across both sites.

TreoCentral

TreoCentral.com is the premier Treo news and community site on the web and has been since its inception in 2002.

TreoCentral is a spin off of VisorCentral.com, a successful website started in 1999 to focus on the Treo's predecessor, the Handspring Visor. Committed to a vision of expert Treo reporting, in-depth reviews of Treos, accessories, and software, and an editorial slant that's as much "tough love" as it is "true love" for the Treo, TreoCentral is one of the most respected voices in the Treo community.

In addition to news, accessory reviews, a Treo wiki, and a podcast, TreoCentral also has the world's most active Treo community in its forums.

The Community Editor for TreoCentral is Jennifer Chappell.

WMExperts

In late 2006, Smartphone Experts broadened its horizons beyond just the Treo smartphone. Its second site, WMExperts.com, focuses on the many Windows Mobile Smartphones in the US.

WMExperts features news, reviews, and opinion about all things Windows Mobile - but in a more blog-like format. WMExperts' tone is as humorous as its content is informative - it's quickly becoming a go-to source for both Windows Mobile information, "smackdown" comparisons, and industry analysis.
